Chet was a rich kid going to high school in Cincinnati, Ohio. One day, his school was attacked by paramilitary forces and a hideous monster. Chet escaped with some of his classmates, but many people were killed. He met a strange Asian man named Yoshi that fought and defeated the attackers.

Later on, Yoshi sort of helped the group discover that they were lycanthropes - Chet was a werewolf. Chet's first transformation occurred when one of his friends stabbed him with a knife. It soon became clear that Yoshi was a terrible mentor and the group moved in with a tall guy at a junkyard and sought out their respective elders.

Chet's elder sent him and the other werewolf on a hunt to destroy a disgusting chemical monster inside a factory. They were successful, but totally grossed out. Later, they attempted to return to the factory to shut it down for good but kept getting into trouble in the shadow realm.
