So, back when I was specifying junk for my new computer, I figured I would use the case and power supply from my old computer, since those were not six years old. Unfortunately, the case turned out to be too small and the power supply was just barely strong enough, and it didn't have power connectors for Core i7. So I ended up building everything entirely new except for one hard drive. This past weekend, I put my old computer back together in its old case and turned it into a server. It's running Windows Server 2008 because that is Microsoft's last server OS that still runs on 32-bit architecture. I will attempt to transfer my entire website and database onto the server this week or possibly this weekend. If all goes well, I'll be able to cancel all of my hosting with 1&1 and lower my monthly fees. In addition, I'll have total control of my server so I can do things like finally have a horking FTP site. The bad news: my website's bandwidth will probably take a hit, but with approximately 5 or so visits a day, it shouldn't be a big deal.
