Zerkos Demokritos

Cunning Human Artisan and 5th-level Explorer/Keeper

Zerkos began as an advisor to Kleitos, a wealthy wheat merchant in the sity of Anacrusis. He was known as an atheist and scientist and frequently angered others with his spiteful jabs. He also worked closely with Herodotus, Kleitos's frontman and part-time assassin. Anacrusis was invaded by the Andoran barbarians from the north and Zerkos and Herodotus were forced to flee to Bellix. There, the two incited the Bellixians to war witht he help of Euthymius. Zerkos and Herodotus returned to Anacrusis with Nikomedes for some covert work to try and discover what the Andorans were doing during their occupation. The three stayed at Kleitos's place but were eventually discovered by a high priest, Enoch. They were thrown in jail, but managed to convince one of the young jailkeepers that Enoch had ulterior motives. After escaping, the three incited a riot and saved Kleitos from a public execution. Fleeing once more, the fugitives traveled to Gela, where a war was being fought against the Andoran army, led by Charon. The city was losing, so the group eluded patrols in the nearby forests and set up base camp at some old ruins.
