Chapter 1, The Job

Desmond decided that he and I should create a distraction. Utilizing the Matter arcanum, he changed the conductivity of the overhead lights and caused them all to go out. Then, utilizing his fist, he punched a nearby patron in the face. Meanwhile, I used Forces again to hijack the agents' radios, and then did my best impression of a squad leader and told them to abort. It must have worked, because people began to panic and the agents all walked over towards the entrance. Brian led the girls to the emergency exit and Desmond and I caught up. Then came the hard part. The girls simply were not having anything to do with getting into our car and going with us. I can hardly blame them. Two agents came through the emergency exit after us and Desmond ran over to subdue them. Brian and I tried to convince the girls that we were the good guys, but it was clear they didn't trust me. I agreed to stay behind and Brian drove them back to our place. I ran over to Desmond, where he was busy hurting one of the agents with his wrench.
