Father Pepophagus

This priest lived in a remote village that became occupied by an army. The army wanted to get an artifact out of a nearby volcano, but this would have caused mass destruction. The leader was unwilling to call off the campaign, so the party resorted to poisoning him. He died a slow and painful death, and on his deathbed delivered a monologue about how he only wanted the best for his country. The priest felt awful for having taken part in such an atrocity and retreated to his church to atone.
