Chapter 1, The Chase
Desmond got back into the driver's seat and drove after the fleeing agent. Brian and I checked on Sarasvati inside the wreckage. She was a little shaken up, but not injured. In the distance, I saw Desmond run over the agent with the car, then back over him once more for good measure. What a psycho. So there we were on the side of a state road with several corpses and the wreckage of one car. Desmond, in a stroke of brilliance, used his Matter and Death magic to cause the scene to look like a car accident, rather than vehicular assault. Not only did we commit the crime, but now we covered it up as well. We took off back to the office with Sarasvati and not-so-clean consciences. It was clear that Sarasvati's house was no longer safe, so she agreed to stay at our place for the time being. With both Sarasvati and Marcus, it's like we basically picked up a third business: Brian St.James' discount motel.
