Chapter 2, Following the Trail

It was revolting. The fungus was shiny and muculent, and looked alien. We all stepped back from our discovery. The mortician was quite disturbed and said he'd have the body taken in for analysis immediately. I scried the fungus and found that it was distributed in almost exactly the same pattern as Eric Martin, with a few "hotspots." Somehow, they were related. We thanked the mortician for his help and left for Eric's home. We got there as fast as we could and told Nathan about the spores. He was very concerned and let us search Eric's room. There were no clues to be found, but we told him to be careful and to avoid any of the spores that might be present. He agreed to keep an eye out. After that, we decided to drive to the nearest hotspot for the spores - an apartment building in the projects. We weren't sure what to expect.
